Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII)
is Theme Park Presenting the whole Indonesiain miniature with all the aspects
of culture. Opened in 20 April 1975 the park is one of the tourist destinations
in Jakarta and Indonesia. At 2012 the total visitors visiting TMII is 4 million
visitors and in 2013, TMII targets 5 million visitors. As there is rising competition from theme
parks in Indonesia and regionally south east Asia, TMII’s brand image as a favored
tourist destination and recreation park is in a decline. The problem accessed
is that the park itself is notpromoting extensively, its mascotsand souvenirs
are not authentic and presented and packaged nicely, and the events held are
not echoed and a breakthroughthus doesnot attract visitors from all over
Jakarta and Indonesia.
In order to reinvigorate TMII’s
product life cycle from declining, there must be an overhaul of innovations to
the park to make it authentically Indonesian and create events that are festive
and lively. As a major reconstruction is considered too costly, for the midterm plan we in our team of Hezky,
Fahrian, Alvin, Prisca, Wida, and Keyko would propose a marketing plan to make TMII more inviting with events
that the family can enjoy and changes in the park to create a more up-to-date
look.
Our
proposal consist of firstly in
TMII a rennovation we think that
as the theme park reflects the
unique architectures of Indonesia. TMII primary mascot Anjani Putra (Nitra)
will also be rejuvenatedwith also harmonizing the real life mascots. There will be a new
design in signages, maps and event guidebook throughout the
park. There will also be tour guides and staffs within each provincial pavilion
which will give tours on the unique cultures of presented by each pavilion.TMII
will also sell souvenirs and accessories that consist of child
friendlyunique provincial headdresses, masks andaccessories.
Theevent that we would suggest is“Tastynesia”and “Petualangan Nusantara” targeted to children and tourist.
Indonesia ispoised on
becoming the next big thing in Asia and its golden ages are coming back in the
in the years to come. We think that it is the right time to show a sense of
nationalism and restoration of Indonesia’s dignity, ways, and thinking. TMII is
